Farmers Demanded To Ban ‘Peepli Live’

Recently, few farmers’ families in Vidarbha have demanded for the ban of ‘Peepli Live’, they feel that the film did not showcase the farmers in the correct way. This is not for the first time that Aamir Khan’s movies to share controversies. Earlier, his films like ‘Fanaa’, ‘Rang De Basanti’ and ‘Taare Zameen Par’ were in controversies. The movie, ‘Fanna’ was even banned in Gujarat.

‘Peepli Live’ is a satire on farmer’s suicides and targets media. In addition to this, Central Board of Film Certification has written letter to Aamir Khan and asked to remove the scene from the movie, which shows the district magistrate asking to donate a hand pump to farmer, by a dialogue as “Ek Lal Bahadur de do”. It was claimed that the scene was being referred to as Lal Bahadur.

The media has also not liked the way they have showed in the movie. Even with these controversies, ‘Peepli Live’ is performing well at Box Office. The movie has surprised every one with its overseas grossing with $350,000 in US during its opening weekend.
