Priyanka Chopra as Indira Gandhi in ‘Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story’

Priyanka Copra is all set to play the role of later Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. This movie will be directed by Indian origin US filmmaker, Krishna Shah. Initially, Madhuri Dixit is the first choice for Krishna Shah. The actress has walked out of the project due to the illness of her mother-in-law.

Later, after considering many actresses, Krishna Shan has chosen Priyanka Chopra to replace Madhuri Dixit. The director plans to cast Academy Award winner, Jenny Shircore in the film. Krishna Shan says, “Yes, I am in conversation with Jenny who thinks that Priyanka is the one who can fit in the character of Indira, but it will be too premature to talk about casting as we have not approached anybody as yet,”

The movie has titled as ‘Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story’ and will be made in two parts. In the first part, the movie shows the Indira Gandhi’s life and political career. The second part showcases her personal life that will speak about his two sons, Rajiv and Sanjay Gandhi.

Actors, Albert Finney, Emily Watson, Tom Hanks and Tommy Lee Jones are the other star casts in the film. Currently, director is making some changes to the script, by doing some research. According to the latest news, the movie is in plans to make with a huge budget.
